The Mizarks is the first album by Mark Stevens outside of his formative band, Lateshift. The Mizarks began as a double album in the spring of 2004, and then became whittled down to a standard LP by its initial January 2006 release. These songs were written during an extended period between 1998 and 2005. Initially never intended to be released, these songs were eventually recorded using primitive recording software and a collection of instruments available at the time.

These songs have been re-recorded and modernized for a 2023 discography re-release.
